16 months old?! There is no way my little boy is 16 months old! Ethan, do Momma a favor and stop getting so big! Here are a few fun facts about Ethan at 16 months and a little comparison to Leah at this same age.
Weight &Height: Unknown...no insurance, so no doctors appointment this month. But after weighing myself (unpleasant) and then weighing myself holding Ethan, my best guesstimate is that Ethan is about...pounds :)
Clothes: Ethan is now wearing a size 12 months in clothes and they fit him just right. He has a couple of pairs of jeans that are 12-18 months, and they are big around the waist, but he can wear them if I role down the waist and anything that's smaller is way to short in length.
Food: Ethan loves food. He will eat pretty much anything that you put in front of him. But he refuses to be fed, he insists on feeding himself. Even something like soup he wants to do himself. We pretty much just roll up his sleeves and let him go at it. His breakfast varies from day to day but he likes pancakes, French toast, oatmeal, chocolate Cheerios, cereal bars, yogurt and Malt-o-Meal. For lunch he likes the usual kid stuff, mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, fries, soup, spaghetti-os, and Ramon noodles, Gerber raviolis, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I try to throw in some fruit or a vegetable in there if I can. Snacks are usually something simple like granola bars, goldfish, fruit buddies, applesauce and yogurt. For dinner he'll eat whatever the rest of us are having, we just make it as small and self feeding as possible. He thinks using a spoon or a fork is totally awesome, although he never makes the food connect with his mouth, but he gives it a solid effort. This kid loves dessert, big surprise there...some of his favorites are cake balls, cookies, Popsicles and suckers. I hope he continues to be such a good eater :)

Sleep: Ethan has turned into a teenager! You wouldn't believe the schedule this kid is on. Not that I'm complaining, but he sleeps a lot! Some days he's only up for a grand total of 5 hours! On a typical day Ethan wakes up at about 9:30 or 10:00 am and on some days he'll sleep as late as 11:00 am. No joke! Then he stays awake for about about 2-3 hours before he goes down for a nap. Then he sleeps for anywhere from 2-3 hours. And we do our best to keep him up until 7pm. Which on some days is stretching it. And he is in full blown melt down mode by 6pm. For the most part he sleeps through the night, but on occasion he wakes up at 3am or 4am and needs a bottle, but I just hand it to him in his crib and he goes right back to sleep. Can you believe that! This kid must be growing!
I found him in this position one night and it was just too funny not to take a picture of :)
Talk: Ethan is talking up a storm! His vocabulary has really improved. A few words he's good at are MaMa, DaDa, Papa, Uh-Oh, Bah or BahBah - which can translate to bottle, passy or any other beverage around that he thinks he should have a taste of including diet Pepsi, NiNi - Night Night, Ba - Bath, and my personal favorite Ca-cah - "cracker" which means any type of food. Cookies, Cheerios, fries, anything edible is a Ca-Cah :) He tries to say Grandma, but is sounds an awful lot like Mama...
Likes: Momma, Daddy and Sissy of course. He loves to play with Leah and they actually get along pretty well.
Watching TV together...
Leah was pushing him around in the laundry basket and he loved it :)
He is Momma's Boy!
He loves his blue Tigger blankie and his passy. Ethan is getting really close to walking and loves to walk to you when he can, but if he's really in a hurry, he just drops and crawls because he's faster that way. He loses his balance, and falls, quite a bit, but his little Frankenstein walk is super cute and he is so proud of himself. He loves to climb! He's a total boy! You can bet money that if you turn your back for a second, he will be climbing the nearest thing possible. And he thinks it's hilarious when you grab him off and take him down. Ethan thinks that Poppy's dogs are totally awesome. He spends a lot of time standing in front of the dog gate, barking at them. He still loves bath time with Sissy and anytime you leave the bathroom door open he makes a beeline for the tub. If the toilet seat is up he thinks splashing in the toilet water is super cool. That is totally a boy thing! Seriously...I never had to tell Leah to stop splashing in the potty.
And his most favorite thing of all is dropping things off his high chair, having you pick it up and hand it to him, so that he can say "Uh-Oh!" and drop it again. Not my favorite :)
Dislikes: Santa :) He screamed his head off and reached out for me to save him! It was really sad :(
He is still very shy and he will bury his head or cover his eyes if anyone unfamiliar talks to him. But it is taking him less and less time to warm up to people and before long he's flirting and flashing his sweetest smile. He also hates having his face wipes and getting his diaper changed.
