Ethan is 6 Months Old

It's hard to believe that it's been six months since my beautiful baby boy came crashing into this world with very little warning! That day will forever be burned into my brain as one of the happiest, craziest, and scariest moments of my life. Ethan is the best baby. He is always so happy and sweet and he loves to snuggle. I love him more and more each day. Here are a few fun facts about Ethan at 6 months, and a little comparison to Leah at this age.

Weight: Since we didn't have a doctors appointment this month, this is my best estimate of Ethan's weight, by holding him and standing on the scale, then weighing myself alone, and subtracting the difference. According to this Ethan weighs 14.2 pounds!

Height: Unknown

Diapers: Ethan is currently wearing a size 3 in diapers, which are actually pretty big on him, but we have poopy pants blow out, out the back end in anything smaller.

Clothes: He is now wearing a size 3-6 months in clothes. Some of them are a little large, but anything smaller, just doesn't fit.

Feedings: Ethan is still receiving only breast milk. My goal is to make it the whole year. We'll see, so far, so good. He does great to take either breast or bottle. He eats about every 3 hours. And when he's bottle fed, he takes about 4 ounces with each feeding. We started giving him some rice cereal in his bottles at night. I was hoping that would help him to sleep longer stretches during the night, but it hasn't really made much of a difference.

Sleep: Things are pretty much the same in the sleep department. Ethan takes a lot of little cat naps during the day. And we are still having a difficult time getting him to go down to sleep at night. I'm just not really sure what to do. When I am home with both him and Leah during the day he usually takes one really good nap for me in his bouncy seat around the same time that Leah naps, but that takes some strategic planning on my part. He needs to have his blankie and his passy to sleep. And of course we are still rocking him. As much as I hate to admit it.

Likes: Momma and Daddy of course, but his favorite person in the whole wide world is his big sissy! He absolutely adores her!

Ethan loves the mobile on his swing



sucking his thumbs and fists, being talked to and tickled. He loves bath time and car rides, rocking, snuggling, and of course, eating.

Dislikes: Being put in his bed awake and expected to go to sleep without being rocked :(

Misc: Ethan can now roll over from his tummy to his back, which makes tummy time next to impossible.



Ethan has enough hair now to spike into a little Mohawk...Love it!
